Course Update

As most of you know, we had 190mm of rainfall on Friday and Saturday morning, which caused the course to completely flood and be closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning. The wind and warmer temperatures on Saturday afternoon and Sunday helped the course dry out quite well. Thankfully, this has allowed us to get machines out on the course to get some mowing done.

On Monday we started the clean-up and picked up all the debris over the playing surfaces. I would like to thank the 15 volunteers who came in and helped out. I do appreciate the hard work of the volunteers, without them we would still be cleaning up the debris and the course would take longer to get back into better shape.

The bunkers will take a few days to repair and replace sand in some of the badly affected bunkers. The capillary bunkers held up well during the storm, proving their value as they required no manual draining and will be much faster to repair. There will be selected bunkers in play on Wednesday and Thursday with the hope of getting them all back in play by the weekend.

All the Fairways, Tees and Green Surrounds have been cut and we will get all the rough cut by the end of the week.

Thanks,

Nick Taplin
